Shotokan Karate-Do Alliance International (SKAI)

The Shotokan Karate-Do Alliance International (SKAI) was founded by Sensei Shinji Akita. It emanated from the Shotokan Karate Association (SKA), which was formed in Great Britain in May 2003.
SKAI is a non-profit, non-political organization which is open to all, regardless of gender, age, nationality or race. It is an alliance of like-minded groups and organizations, existing to promote high standards in traditional Shotokan Karate.
SKAI is a platform for Karateka to broaden their knowledge, for networking and exchange of information.
It allows its members to access special events like national and international training courses and tournaments. Being provided with technical guidance, grading standards and syllabus, the members are able to achieve an internationally acknowledged grading.

SKAI-Kenya was founded in 2017 by Sensei Klaus Martin. Since then Sensei Klaus Martin has seen it as his task to popularise and spread Karate in Kenya based on Sensei Akita's idea. In 2019, Sensei Klaus Martin got the 5th Dan at the SKAI Honbu Dojo in Limburg Germany and was appointed Chief Instructor of SKAI-Kenya by Sensei Shinji Akita.
